Wellington, NZ - April 14

On Tuesday afternoon we rolled into Wellington for the last night of our trip. Wellington is a beautiful city of 400,000, the capital of NZ and is known for being windy! This parliament building is called the 'hive'.


Down by the waterfront on Lambton Harbour. The big brownish-grey building is Te Papa: Museum of New Zealand.






We picked up an old friend from Colorado (Bruce) at his work at the City of Wellington and he took us for a drive up Mt Victoria for 360 degree views of the city. Absolutely amazing! The first picture is looking back down at Lambton Harbour, the second is out to sea. Lord of the Rings trivia: parts of the Hobbits flight from the Nazgul were on Mt Victoria.



We went to Bruce & Gillian's for a barbie. Mike's on their back deck in an area called Houghton Bay. You can see the ocean from their house!!


This is Tasman and she's an awesome mermaid.
