Annecy, France - arrival (1)

On Friday, June 27th, we landed in Geneva, Switzerland. The UEFA Football is being held in Switzerland and Austria until the 29th so Geneva was decorated in all things football from the airport and train station to football street lights, fan zones and stadiums. We took a bus 1 1/2 hours to Annecy.

We arrived in Annecy and walked around the Old Town, had an amazing dinner of Fondue and French wine and took these pictures on our walk back to the hotel and by the Lake.

Saturday we walked around the Old Town. Our hotel is just to the left of the Palais de l'isle (the prison on the island on the canal). It was 90 degrees tonight (about 33 Celcius).

Annecy, France - Donna & Herve (2)

The best part of our trip to France was to see Donna & Herve and their girls! The 4 of them drove to Annecy to meet us. Here is Maylis (3 yrs old), Herve, Donna & Jen.

Herve took us to a pizza restaurant an Italian friend of him recommended. Here's Herve with Thea (4 1/2) and Maylis (below).

And these two LOVED to shop. They stopped and looked at all the stuff in the antique market and here they are admiring a painting! Plus we had an ice cream stop, so we're all happy.

Last stop of the day was the Merry-Go-Round. I've never seen 2 kids so happy as when they got to go on it a second time!

I haven't seen Donna since they lived in Beaver Creek over 5 years ago (they've been in France 5 years) and its like no time has lapsed (except for the gorgeous bilingual daughters). It was such a wonderful day!

After the Lemouzy family headed back home, Mike & I rented a paddleboat and took to the Lake. Its 7pm and its so hot we're going to have to jump in the water! (And we did...)

After drying out, we wandered the Old Town and found some dinner and then some ice cream... they really like their ice cream here - every other shop is an ice cream store.

On Sunday it was the Market - so we did a tour and tried amazing French cheeses.

After breakfast, we rented bikes and rode along Lake Annecy for a few hours. We headed south from town with the lake on our left and saw people at beaches, tennis clubs, sailing and swimming.

It is so hot, we had to at least stick our legs in for a dip (before returning our bikes, getting on a train and heading back to Geneva to fly home - where it was raining.)

Amsterdam - European Marketing Mtg (1)

Tuesday, 17th May - the annual European Marketing Meeting in Amsterdam. After a full day of marketing plans, we retire to Lisse, a quiet village where we can watch the 2008 UEFA Cup - Holland vs. Romania (Holland win). Here's a picture of the Marketing gang.
