Sydney Aquarium
Mike & I finally went to the Sydney Aquarium. Aside from all of the kids, it was pretty cool. I like the weedy seahorses best.

Adelaide, SA
I was in Adelaide, South Australia for 2 days for work - to do some training and visit some customers. Luckily, Thursday night was the start of the Fringe Festival so the town was a bit lively!

Canberra, ACT
My first trip to Canberra, ACT and it was COLD! 11 C in February and very winter-;ike. Its a really interesting town - 323,000 people and the political capital of Australia. There's giant complexes full of the Department of Defence, Department of Justice, and lots of other branches of the Australian Government.
On Thursday I tried to walk to dinner after 5:30 and it was a ghost town. So I decided a nice quiet meal in my room would be best, but unfortunately I was staying somewhere with no room service, so I went to the restaurant and it was packed - trivia night at the pub - but luckily it was an American trivia theme and I was in demand!
On Friday, I went to an Apology Breakfast at the National Press Club celebrating the one year anniversary of the Apology. It was extremely moving and very difficult to see customers afterwards. I'm all charged up to go back to the office and build our Reconciliation Action Plan. Canberra was definitely an interesting trip.

Snorkelling Shelly Beach
Starting off the day with some caffeine at our local cafe in McMahons Point. Then we took the ferry to Circular Quay and then the ferry over to Manly.
Between Manly Beach and Shelly Beach is Cabbage Tree Aquatic Reserve where we did our first leg of snorkelling. We saw lots of fish and followed a male Blue Groper around for awhile.
We decide to try Shelly Beach next door which is a bit calmer. Here's looking back at Cabbage Tree Bay and beyond it to the sand of Manly Beach.
Shelly Beach - nice and calm as its more protected. We snorkelled on the far side to the left of the picture.
We saw all of these fish while snorkelling from Shelly Beach. We didn't have an underwater camera so we borrowed someone else's pictures to show you what we saw.
Mados - these stripey fish are everywhere.

Maori Wrasse
Blue Groper (male) - we saw a few of these and they are almost 3 feet long! Very big and you can swim right up and look them in the eye!
Afterwards, we took the Manly ferry back to the city, then our ferry home.

Chinese New Year
There's so much going on in Sydney all the time its hard to keep track! Today was the Twilight Parade (below) & fireworks for Chinese New Year. 2009 is the year of the Ox.
