Martinborough wine region - April 13th

After leaving Napier, its almost 4 hours drive south to Martinborough (wine region!) Although on the way you can see Norsewood (a Norweigan town) - home to Norsewear outdoor clothing.



And then the Danish town of Dannevirk

And we had to stop for THE BIG KIWI in Eketahuna


And Paua World - this is where all the souveniers in NZ are made! Paua is the shiny stuff from the shells in NZ that they put in everything - earrings, necklaces, magnets, etc.

First stop - Martinborough Vineyard. We took away a bottle of the Burnt Spur Pinot Noir.


Next stop was Muirlea, then to Ata Rangi (below) where we liked all of their wines.


Mike booked us into a straw house - it was pretty neat and well insulated.


Easter Monday dinner at the local hotel. Really good food actually.
