Sydney - Day 2 (aka Mike's Birthday!)

Its our first day waking up in Sydney and although we have to set up a bank account, get a mobile phone and start finding a place to live, we take a quick tour around in honor of Mike's birthday.


Sydney has a monorail that goes around the city centre, Darling Harbor, Convention Centre, Chinatown, Paddy's Market in a big loop. We took it!










Getting off the train in Circular Quay. There's aborignal musicians, The Rocks (looks like an old mining town with restaurants, bars & shops), the Sydney Opera House and these birds with long bills.

Arrival in Sydney

We are Sydneysiders! Today we landed in Australia for the first times ever and have gone immediately to our hotel (2nd picture below) on Darling Harbor. The weather is so nice here!



This is Darling Harbor. The City is just a few blocks uphill...




The Aquarium and Wildlife Centre are nextdoor to our hotel on Darling Harbor.











In the city, here's Sydney Tower. We haven't gone up it yet.
