Charlotte's Visit

Charlotte was in Sydney for 4 days on her way to a wedding in Cairns. First thing off the plane, we took her to Bondi Beach for breakfast and a bit of a walk along the cliff walk.



Then to our house to book Char's Harbour Bridge Climb while Mike & Jen rest!


On Sunday, we drove to the Blue Mountains and after a view of Three Sisters, we went to Scenic World to take the railroad down into the canyon.

We had to cut our trip short to get back to Sydney to see 'Spontaneous Broadway' at the Opera House with Julia Zimero and other improv comedians. Then on Monday, Charlotte toured around Sydney -- checked out Darling Harbour and took the ferry to Manley -- and we had a BBQ at our house and sampled some local wine and beer. On Tuesday, she did a daytrip to the Hunter Valley Wineries. It was super-fun to visit with Charlotte in Sydney!

Jervis Bay Weekend

Its the Queen's Birthday and we've got a long weekend! I was in Melbourne on Friday night for the United Nations World Environment Day Awards and flew back to Sydney where Mike picked me up on Saturday morning and we drove a few hours south down the coast to Jervis Bay. We stopped for lunch in Kiama.



Arrival in Jervis Bay - this is Hyam Beach which is supposed to be the whitest sand beach in the world.

Booderee National Park - its on Jervis Bay and we spent the day walking the beaches, checking out the kangaroos & wallabies, whales and even saw a penguin!

For winter, it was sunny and warm during the day, but the temperature dropped after the sun wet down.


On Monday, we drove up to Sydney via the coastal route and passed through the Shoalhaven Coast Winter Wine Festival.




After hitting a few wineries, we drove along the coast past lots and lots of beaches and amazing views.
