Peak District: Part 3 - Buxton

Tonight we're sleeping at a B&B in Buxton - the biggest town in the Peak District (the Western Gate). Georgian Buxton was similar to Bath - it was a spa town where all the society folk came to be in the water.

This is the Old Town Hall (now a hotel). Its famous because Mary Queen of Scots stayed here.


Mike's taking a drink of Buxton's Spring Water from St Anne's Well - they still bottle it and sell it today.


A cute pub in the Market Square. Its a really nice evening for England and most people are sitting outside in the beer gardens.


Buxton has this great old Opera House.



And a fantastic park with Pavilions, a river, gardens, mini train, swimming pool and a rock with a hole in it. Plus all of these gorgeous houses and B&Bs right on the park's pedestrian walk.
